Create Big Romance with Little Surprises

Surprises add the spice every relationship needs.  Here are some ideas that will help you spark your spontaneity and creativity.  Surprise him with tickets to his favorite sporting event.  Take her car to be washed, cleaned, and waxed.  Let her pick the movie and let yourself enjoy what she picks.   Make a bubble bath, light lots of candles, turn on some favorite music, and invite him to join you to relax.  Clan the house before she gets home. Plan a visit to his parents. Make note of the random hints she drops. When you're passionate about making surprises, you keep the passion alive in your marriage. 

When your partner is stressed, give him space if that's what he needs.  If he's preoccupied and irritable, don't take his mood personally or try to fix things for him either.  You can't tend to his business, but you can focus on your own. Pamper yourself with things that calm and soothe you.  Enjoy a bubble bath, read a good book, write in your journal, take a long walk, or got to a movie.  By giving yourself special attention you won't feel so neglected by him. His stress will pass more quickly when it's not made worse by your becoming stressed and anxious too.
